In two words...Probably not.
I'm going to try and have a serious discussion here, but we'll see how it goes. For years and years the republicans have basically done nothing to get the young vote. Their general idea was that the youth wont vote on election day and that it's a waste of time to campaign with them. Will both parties, after the youth propelled Obama to victory, start paying closer attention to the issues that matter to the 18-30 crowd?

...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
If they do they will quickly realize the issues important to this crowd aren't at all feasible. As obama has allready backtracked and flip flopped on most of his promises to this crowd.

So you're saying that since those issues aren't feasible (read: easily fixed/changed) that those issues should be ignored?

Yes I think that they will.....IMHO Reps will move away from the socal issues that have been there calling card since 94 and focuse more on the small gov message that has got lost since 2000
I think going after the 18-30 crowd is smart in that many of the people in that catagory are still open to voteing for one side or the other where as the 65+ age group are more likly to be voteing for a party more than a canadate (and are not likly to change the party that they have been voteing for)

I would not say that they should be ignored but they will be......Look at SS after the reps desided to spend there "political capatal" on fixing that albatross in 04 neather party wants to touch it with a 10 foot stick.....SS is a TOUGH issue that will not be touched until it is broken compleatly
